Press Release: The Best Thing to Happen to Rick Scott in a Week: His Bus Tour Comes to a Screeching Halt

As a CEO, Rick Scott made a name for himself by defrauding taxpayers.  As a candidate for Governor on the campaign trail, he has made making gaffes an art form.  Here is a timeline including the greatest hits from his recent bus tour:

July 22: RICK SCOTT SAYS HE WILL LOOK INTO WHETHER PRESIDENT OBAMA IS LEGALLY THE PRESIDENT

“After confessing to the crowd he’d never gotten that question before — and wasn’t sure precisely how the practice of getting a presidential candidate on the ballot worked — he said, ‘I’ll have to look into it.’”

July 22: RICK SCOTT’S CAMPAIGN BLOCKS ACCESS TO VETERAN POLITICAL REPORTER

“Putney says the stop went smoothly until he asked Esther Scott a few simple, straight-forward questions. Referring to her son, she replied, “He’s doing the job he wants to do and will do a great job for the state of Florida.”

After that incident, video shows Rick Scott staffers blocking him from Scott as they walked towards the campaign tour bus.

Putney claims staffers insisted he not air the Esther Scott interview if he wanted access to Scott.

Putney refused.

Video also shows Putney trying to board the campaign bus and being ignored. As staffers boarded the bus leaving Putney behind, he told them, ‘Hey whoa! Whoa! Are you saying I can’t speak to the candidate?’”

July 27: RICK SCOTT’S STANCE ON OFFSHORE DRILLING COMPLICATED BY OWNERSHIP IN OIL COMPANY

“His campaign attacked Scott by suggesting he supports offshore drilling claiming he did so because it helps his wallet. Scott owns $20 million worth of stock in Drives LLC, a company certified by the American Petroleum Institute for manufacturing chains and augers used in oil production and other industries.”
