2nd Amendment

Defending the 2nd Amendment:

Bill is a tireless advocate of Americans’ right to bear arms.  As a member of the United States Congress, Bill was given “A” ratings from the National Rifle Association for his voting record. In 2008, he joined with other Attorneys General in filling an amicus brief in the case NRA v. Chicago asking for the court to overturn a city ordinance that prevented the ownership of a handgun in one’s own home.  In 2009, he filed an amicus brief in the case District of Columbia v. Heller supporting the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals to protect individual’s right to bear arms. As Governor, he will continue to support this vital American right.
