Meet Ingrid

Ingrid Seebohm McCollum was born and raised in the Southern Tier of upstate New York. After graduation from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Sociology, she took a job with the American Red Cross and was assigned as a hospital caseworker in Service to Military Families at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, Illinois.
She met Bill McCollum, who was stationed at Great Lakes as a Navy JAG officer, and they were married in 1971.

Ingrid has spent the past 38 years supporting her husband in his endeavors and raising their three sons, Douglas, Justin, and Andrew. She was always involved in her husband’s campaigns and as a Congressional spouse during the 20 years he served in Congress.
Bill and Ingrid raised their family in the Orlando area, and Ingrid served on School Advisory Councils, was active as a parent volunteer in the high school Band Boosters, and supported the boys’ Little League teams and their Scout troops.

The boys are grown, the nest is empty. Douglas married Zayna in 2008 and they are in Chicago.  Justin has been married for 10 years and he and his wife, Patty, have  two sons, ages 6 and 3, and the McCollums enjoy being grandparents. Andrew is an Army Captain currently stationed in the States.

While Bill spends time in Tallahassee serving as the Attorney General of Florida, Ingrid monitors closely her father-in-law, Ira, who still lives in his own home in Brooksville.  And she is again involved in her husband’s campaign – for Governor of the State of Florida.
